Video Conferencing Solution for Rockstar North Ltd
Rockstar North Ltd. (formerly DMA Design Ltd.) are a UK games developer based in Scotland, Rockstar is best known for creating the Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings franchises whilst previously trading as DMA. The company is owned by Take-Two Interactive. It is the main developer of the Grand Theft Auto series, including Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which are three of the all time best-selling games on sixth-gen consoles.
Requirement
Located in Edinburgh, Rockstar North are a long way from their parent company Take Two Interactive who are based in New York. Rockstar North required a high definition video conferencing solution to effectively communicate with both Rockstar US head office and their parent company Take Two, the solution was to provide an endpoint solution with low bandwidth usage at 720 and 1080p with additional digital data sharing.
Solution
To fulfill this requirement ITSL Group provided a LifeSize Express 220, the latest HD video conferencing codec the latest generation of HD equipment from LifeSize Communications. The Express 200 has the lowest bandwidth usage in its class utilising on 768K upload speed at 720P/30, the codec has dual screen outputs as standard and offers the user both an analogue (VGA) and digital input (DVI-I) for sharing additional data or video sources.The HD video is captured via 1080P PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera which is fully controllable from the local users control interface and also from other endpoints if the function is activated.

AV hardware runs best when it’s properly maintained. ITSL will provide scheduled maintenance on both the hardware and the software.
Support
