PA System Installation for ARK Academy

The recently completed Ark Academy located in Wembley, London is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through academy, the academy takes pupils from age 3 to 18 and has specialist status in mathematics and citizenship. The academy is part of the ARK Schools, ARK Schools are a UK education charity, it is also part of the international children’s charity ARK. The charity runs a range of health, welfare and education projects in the UK, Southern Africa, India and Eastern Europe.

Requirement

ITSL Group were engaged at the request of the new Head Teacher Delia Smith having used ITSL’s services in a previous school. The remit was to produce an integrated hall system to enable the control of the stage mounted projection equipment and the equipment including the lighting control on the 1st floor production booth.
The installation was to be designed to utilise as much of the existing equipment already purchased by the academy but repackaged and delivered by ITSL, as with all organisation there were strict guidelines in regard to equipment specification, colour schemes and branding.

Solution

ITSL Group designed a lectern based system utilising dual Crestron touch panels, both identical with one positioned on the stage lectern and one within the 1st floor production booth. This solution gave complete control to the speaker on the stage or the booth staff to control the video input to the projector, projector screen audio volume and lighting scenes. The entire system can be controlled from the lectern and is all communicated to the booth over CAT5, the control panel is a POE device and video and audio is transmitted over twisted pair transmitters offering an very simple colour coded cable interface to allow the lecterns removal if required.
Using a combination of Crestron and Kramer products ITSL provided an excellent integrated system that can be used by all within the academy regardless of technical skill level.
